Chicago Iowa Club has found our "Home Away from Kinnick", and it's
Merkle's Bar & Grill. Merkle's is located just south of historic Wrigley Field on Clark Street.
During the football season (and all throughout the year), you're sure to find
many Hawkeyes in Merkle's. Merkle's is also owned and operated by Iowa Alumnis.
Merkle's opened it's doors in December of 2004, just before the Capital One Bowl.
Merkle's put up the flag, "The Catch" was made, and the rest is history!
Merkle's offers up specials
for Hawkeyes to enjoy every Saturday. The place is covered with Iowa flags, pennants, and Iowa memorabila
to make any Hawkeye feel like they were in Iowa City!
They also have some of the city's best chicken wings (2007 Award Winner),
and you can bet they keep the party going with the fight song after every big play!
