Scott Sissel

Scott is an estate planning and administration attorney with McGuireWoods, LLP (click for bio). Scott got his undergraduate degree in accounting in 2001 and his law degree in 2003 from the University of Iowa. Scott moved to Chicago while he was getting his masters in laws in taxation from Northwestern in 2004 and has been focusing on helping individuals prepare their estate plans as well as assisting with the administration of deceased persons estates ever since. Scott is married to Anne Sissel, a 2003 graduate of the University of Iowa and a 5th grade teacher in Homewood, Illinois. Feel free to contact him at ssissel@mcguirewoods.com.

Katie graduated from the University of Iowa in 1998 with a BA in political science and economics. While at Iowa, she served as president of Delta Zeta sorority and was active in Greek Week and Dance Marathon. After earning her law degree from the University of Minnesota in 2001, Katie moved to Chicago, where she worked as a corporate tax attorney until 2007. Since March 2007, Katie has been the Director of Alumni Relations for DePaul University College of Law. In her free time, she enjoys playing volleyball and tennis, watching sports and travelling.

Erin earned her BA in 1998 and directs The University of Iowa Chicago Center. She enjoys working with area alumni to get their companies or organizations recruiting Iowa students and graduates for internships and/or full-time positions. Additionally, she reaches out to organizations and agencies who work with college bound youth from underrepresented backgrounds. Erin is married to Todd Bloomquist (JD '99). Mike earned his BA in English and Communication Studies from the University of Iowa in 1999. Following graduation, Mike moved to California to pursue his MFA in Film and Television Production from Chapman University. During his time in California, Mike was an active member in the Orange County Iowa Club. In 2004 Mike returned to his hometown of Chicago, and is currently working as a consultant. Mike is pursuing his MS in Computer Science from DePaul University, and is married to Laura, a fellow Hawkeye.

After graduating at Iowa in 2000, Pete moved to Chicago as a Art Director for a small firm in the South Loop. In 2004, Pete opened his first Bar/Restaurant in Chicago, and in 2007, opened his second in Lincoln Square. In his free time, Pete practices graphic and web design as a freelance designer. He is married with a daughter and a son (future Hawkeyes)!

Andrew earned his degree from the Tippie School of Business in 2007. Upon graduating, he started at The Chicago Mercantile Exchange and currently works at The Chicago Board of Trade in S&P Options trading.

Matt Welch

Matt graduated from the University of Iowa in 2006 with a B.B.A. in finance and marketing. Upon graduation, Matt moved to Chicago where he worked as a real estate investment banking analyst for the Bank of Montreal. In July 2008, Matt left and started with Harrison Street Real Estate Capital and has been there since. Harrison Street is a real estate private equity firm with approximately $1.8 billion in real estate assets under management. In his free time, he enjoys playing sports, watching the Hawkeyes and travelling.

Upon graduation, Matt moved to Chicago where he started working for Jordan, Knauff & Company, a boutique middle market investment bank, and has been there since. At Jordan, Knauff & Company, Matt focuses primarily on mergers & acquisitions. In his free time, he enjoys playing sports, watching the Hawkeyes and reading.
